So, you’re wondering who is writing all of this. I am. So…hello, my name is Y3W_TREE, but you don’t really care about that. The question isn’t, “Who are you?” The real question is, “What is it about you that makes you different from the other whiny Social Justice Warriors who pop up with their own blog every 15 seconds?”
Well, see, I’m just a slacker aspiring to be a Polymath. You know, the kind of person who bounces from one intellectual wall to another: reading political blogs, thinking on Immanuel Kant, learning to draw, trying to get into Programming, watching art house movies along with episodes of Good Eats while touching themselves every night…only to realize that for all of their effort, they haven’t made any real “progress”. You know, the kind that allows one to be pidgeon-holed into a miserable life, where everyone thinks you’re happy because you have certificates and money, until you die from debilitating depression and everyone’s all, “Oh, that person is just doing it for attention! Depression is a myth by Big Pharma and Liberals!”…but that’s a rant for another day.
Over the course of my life, I’ve marked my territory to the degree where my “space” is more like a sloppy oval, littered with a lot of stuff. I’ve been to college, cities and libraries. Lived through childhood abuse, may have hurt others in the process, and am feeling utter remorse for both things. I’m a constant daydreamer, even as I work 30-hour weeks and am able to pay my rent (for now). But I also try to work on myself. Seeing therapists, counselors, talking about things in a frank manner. I probably won’t be invited to a lot of famous people’s birthday parties as a result of my frankness, but hey.
So, expect this place to be little more than me talking to myself out loud about various things. I’m the intellectual equivalent of the saxophone player who always arrives at a certain time in Central Park, playing their heart out just because. And if someone wants to tip them (or give them a number/business card), hey, that’s a bonus…until it’s not.
So, welcome. Don’t be afraid to call me out if I start being a bit…weird.
